A Visual Board for Work

Are you having trouble with transparency and communication around your work or a team’s work? Would you like to be able to visualize when an item is in progress or done?

I recommend using a visual board to show your work.  In software development, you may hear the phrases Scrum board or Kanban board. In my last post, I talked about having a backlog for all of your ideas/items around a product or project.  I have created a simple board, shown below, to visualize the status of each item.

This board is updated throughout one’s work to help build transparency and communication around the work getting done.  As an idea, try using a daily scrum meeting, backlog, and visual board to see if it improves communication and transparency.

What are your experiences with a visual board?  What have you done to improve communication and transparency around work?
